To maintain a secure and reliable environment for all our customers, we request the submission of specific documents for verification. If you apply for a Basic or Full verification level, proof of address is necessary. This guide will lead you through the process, ensuring a smooth verification experience.

What is Proof of Address?

Proof of address is a document that verifies your residential address. It is used to confirm your identity and establish your physical presence in a specific location. By submitting an acceptable proof of address, you can comply with EU regulations and enhance the security of your transactions on Swapin.

Acceptable Proof of Address Documents

To meet compliance requirements, Swapin accepts the following types of documents as valid proof of address:

  3. Statements about your registration at your address from a government portal in your country. Usually, you can download the official document from the portal.

  4. A valid and current rental or lease agreement in your name is accepted. Ensure it contains the property address, your name, and the signatures of both parties involved.

  6. Account statements from your internet service provider, bills from landline telephone, internet, TV, or communication packages are accepted. Note that mobile bills are not acceptable.

  7. Letters from tax or government authorities, including tax statements that may go beyond three months but fall within the past year, can be submitted as proof of address.

  8. Disclosure statements issued by body corporate or homeowner associations and Statements issued by building management or property management companies are accepted as proof of address.

  9. Statements or documents from home insurance providers that display your name and residential address are accepted.

What to Do:

To provide the correct proof of address and ensure a smooth verification process, follow these guidelines:

  1. Ensure that the document you submit is no older than three months.

  2. Make sure the document is clear, legible, and free from any alterations or obstructions that may hinder verification.

  3. Double-check that your full name, residential address, and issue date are clearly visible on the document.

  4. Take clear and well-lit scans or photos of the documents or download a PDF, ensuring all details are easily readable. Screenshots are not accepted for verification. Additionally, please ensure that you provide the full document in its entirety, rather than just a partial section of it.

What to Avoid:

To prevent delays or rejections during the verification process, avoid the following pitfalls:

  1. Do not submit documents that have expired or are no longer valid.

  2. Ensure that all relevant information, such as your full name, address, and issue date, is visible on the document. Partial or incomplete information may lead to rejection.

  3. Do not submit handwritten or self-prepared documents as proof of address. Only official and verifiable documents are accepted.

  4. Do not modify or alter the submitted document in any way, as it may lead to rejection.

Providing the correct proof of address document is an essential step in completing your verification process on Swapin.
