Transacting on Weekends: What to Expect?

95% of Swapin transactions are completed in 5 minutes or less, regardless of the day of the week the transaction occurs. This applies to cases where you are using Instant SEPA IBAN, and your transaction encounters no compliance issues. However, in some instances, a transaction may take longer and require involvement from a representative at Swapin, the payment provider, or a bank. In such cases, you can expect your transaction to be resolved on the next business day or possibly take a bit more time.

Here is a list of situations that can only be addressed on business days:

  • Your IBAN doesn't support Instant SEPA. For non-instant IBANs, transactions may take 1-2 business days. If you initiated your transaction late on a Friday, or on Saturday or Sunday, please expect it to be completed at the beginning of the next business week.

  • Additional compliance check. If your transaction requires an additional compliance check, we will contact you by email and ask to provide additional info about a transaction you are making. Typically this is an invoice you are paying and/or a source of funds. Swapin and payment provider's compliance teams operate from Monday to Friday, and compliance checks usually take a couple of business days.

What to Do if Your Transaction Is Not Completed on the Weekend?

We understand how frustrating it can be when your money is pending. The general rule is to contact Swapin support at customer@swapin.com using the same email you used to sign in to Swapin. Please wait until the next business day for your issue to be resolved. We do not provide transaction-related support on social media channels due to privacy reasons. Rest assured that as a regulated and licensed non-custodial solution, Swapin is obligated to complete your transaction. In cases where a transaction cannot be completed, the typical solution is a refund. Be confident that we will do our best to resolve every issue and provide you with the necessary support. Exercise patience and await updates about your transaction on the next business day.
